As seen in...
Engagement shoots usually last anywhere from 60-90 minutes and are great chance for us to learn about each other. The session is focused on capturing real moments and raw emotions. For location, the first things I always ask everyone is.." is there's a special place that means something to you?". The second question I ask is... "do you have any interesting locations you have access to?". Many times, people will have unique access to a location and that can be a great place to start when thinking about best locations.
I shoot all my engagement sessions at about the same time of day, which is about 90 minutes before sunset. This time of day usually has the best light which is always a plus. Here are a couple of tips to keep in mind for your engagement shoot -
1) Make sure you're dressed comfortably (we'll be walking around a lot)
2) You can bring a change of clothes if you want
3) Come with an open mind... sometimes strange locations make for great pictures
4) Avoid wearing clothes that have a lot of stripes on them
5) Ask yourself if you have access to any unique locations (i.e. building rooftops, office buildings, etc.)
